Chase – Therapy Dog-in-Training
Jamar Chase is a devoted, intuitive, and personality-filled canine companion currently training to become a certified therapy dog through Tri-State Canine Obedience.
With a natural curiosity and a growing ability to connect with those around him, Jamar is learning how to provide comfort, emotional support, and positive engagement in a variety of settings. His training focuses on developing calm, reliable behavior and the skills needed to safely and confidently interact with people of all ages and needs.
Through this program, Jamar is working toward becoming a steady, supportive presence—offering connection, grounding, and the occasional well-timed tail wag.
His journey reflects growth, patience, and the meaningful role animals can play in emotional wellness and human connection.
Hi there! I am (jamar) Chase.
Why Therapy Dogs?
There’s a growing body of research showing what many people naturally feel—being around a calm, friendly dog can help us feel more at ease. Therapy dogs have been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and create a greater sense of safety and connection during sessions. Even simple interactions, like petting a dog, can support the body’s natural calming response and make it easier to settle into the therapeutic process.
For many clients, having a therapy dog present can also make therapy feel more approachable and less intimidating. Dogs can help bridge connection, support emotional regulation, and offer a steady, nonjudgmental presence—something that can be especially meaningful for children, teens, and individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, or overwhelm.
While therapy dogs aren’t a replacement for clinical work, they can be a powerful complement—helping create a space that feels safe, grounded, and genuinely supportive.
